What is Solar System ?

                                                       OUR SOLAR SYSTEM

Solar System :-

The Solar System is a collection of celestial objects that orbit around the Sun. It Sun, eight planets, dwarf planets, and numerous other objects such as asteroids, comets, and meteoroids. The Solar System was formed around 4.6 billion years ago from a cloud of gas and dust, known as the solar nebula.

The Sun is the center of the Solar System and by far its largest component. It makes up about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System. The Sun is a massive ball of hot, ionized gas and is considered a main-sequence star. It provides light, heat, and energy to all the objects in the Solar System through a process called nuclear fusion.

PLANETS IN OUR SOLAR SYSTEM :-

The eight planets in the Solar System are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

They are divided into two categories :-
Inner planets and outer planets. The inner planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars, are rocky and relatively small compared to the outer planets. They are also closer to the Sun and have less mass.
On the other hand, the outer planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, are gas giants and much larger than the inner planets. They are further from the Sun and have much greater masses. Jupiter is the largest planet in the Solar System and has a mass that is more than twice that of all the other planets combined. Saturn is famous for its rings, which are made up of ice and rock particles. Uranus and Neptune are known for their unique axial tilts, which cause them to rotate on their sides.
In addition to the eight planets, there are also several dwarf planets in the Solar System. These include Pluto, Eris, Haumea, and Makemake. Dwarf planets are similar to planets in that they orbit the Sun and have enough mass to have a spherical shape, but they are not large enough to clear their orbit of other debris.

The Asteroids in the Solar System :-

They are small, rocky objects that orbit the Sun. Many of them are located in the asteroid belt, which is between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Some asteroids are thought to be the remnants of a planet that never formed due to gravitational interactions with Jupiter.

Comets :-

They are made up of ice, dust, and rock and are considered to be some of the oldest and most primitive objects in the Solar System. When a comet comes close to the Sun, its ice begins to vaporize, creating a tail that can be seen from Earth.
The Solar System also includes a number of other objects, such as meteoroids, which are small pieces of rock and dust that enter the Earth's atmosphere and burn up, creating a meteor or shooting star. Some meteoroids are thought to be the remnants of comets or asteroids.

 IN CONCLUSION :-

The Solar System is a complex and dynamic system that contains a diverse range of celestial objects. From the tiny, rocky inner planets to the massive gas giants of the outer planets, each object in the Solar System plays a unique role in shaping our understanding of the universe.
